ID? Annual Garden Poppies in Vancouver

I have always loved those wonderful old fashioned garden poppies that used to pop up in Lower Mainland gardens...they were often double, usually pink shades. It is too bad you don't see them much any more.

What was the proper latin name for those?

 

Opium poppy. Still very common. Available both as seed and as started plants, the latter easily found in local garden centers - despite being illegal.

 

Papaver somniferum

 

I will have to start sprinkling them in suitable places!
