    ... buy new trees ! ^^

But a garden center near where I live is closing.
They offer 40% off everything, so I came back with 3 trees about 80-90 cm, tag price 44.99€, with the discount that's 27€ for each tree.

I offered the 'Dissectum Garnet' to my best friend, she had no maples so far but when she saw mine, she wanted "a red one".

I kept 'Skeeter's Broom' for my garden, as well as 'North Wind' : I had never heard of the latter before, but I did a quick search, it's a hybrid from sieboldianum and palmatum : That's what I love !

Skeeter’s broom has a strong canopy and solid brown smooth bark as if it’s been painted, good pick Alain.

North Wind looks like a cracker having googled i!

    Hi my friend,

'Garnet' is a great maple that keeps its red in shade better than perhaps any other from the Dissectum Group.

NORTH WIND® is part of the Iseli Nursery Jack Frost series, sieboldianum crosses that have been selected over a 40 year period for superior cold resistance, allowing them to be planted in zone 5 or even 4. They are grafted onto sieboldianum rootstock.

Except here in Europe, where sieboldianum rootstock is unavailable. So they are grafted on palmatum. Making them no hardier than your average bear. That's fine for you, but my friends in Sweden or Norway would be pretty disappointed.

    Cheers, -E
