I have a song of India plant that I was going to try and plant in our yard. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do with it. I would like to get it growing really well, and it's just not flourishing in a pot. Our soil in clay-based, but sand and loam are easily attainable. Thanks!

This is a tropical or tender perennial plant. The hardiness is zone 10b or 11. It likes sun to part shade, average water. I don't know about the soil.
