My husband had this plant given to him working at a mall. I have no idea what it is or how much water it needs. The ends of the leaves are turning yellow/brown. If somebody could help me I would appreciate it.
It looks like Dracaena deremensis compacta... It does well with defused morning light, or bright indirect somewhere else. Water well when close to dry. The plant may have been, over fertilized, too wet or too dry or in bad light at some point because of the dry tips. It looks like it needs more light because of the wide spaces on the stems between the leaves. If you ever want to cut the stems back, new leaves will grow near where you made the cuts. You can also root 7' tips or just bare stems.
To me it looks like Dracaena deremensis 'Janet Craig'. The compacta leaves are more upright and shorter. I agree with Bluewing's other info... Ed
Thats Dracaena fragrans 'Janet Craig'. Dracaena deremensis is now considered a synonym of the common Dracaena fragrans.
