I have a beautiful plant/herb growing in my garden. It has small green leaves and violet Flowers which open in the morning and close in the afternoon. It looks like an invasive species as it grows over the ground and into other trees and bushes. It grows very rapidly.
I have been looking on the internet to find out what kind of plant this could be and it shows all the signs of being in the Convolvulaceae family and it the shows most similarity to Ipomoea leptophylla (Bush Morning Glory).

But from what I can see on the internet, these last named species have heart-shaped leaves, whereas the plant in my garden has leaves looking exactly like the one on the following picture: click here for the picture

But on that picture, you can see berries growing on the plant and also has a whitish flower. Whereas the plant in my garden has no berries and has a violet flower.

It has no seeds but has a stamen in flower which is a darker shade of violet.

    What could this possibly be?

Thank you. That looks very, very similar. But doesn't Ipomoea palmata have seeds?

Can you post a photo of the real thing?
The color is probably variable, and what you have should also produce seeds after it flowers.

I Can't seem to see any seeds nor berries on the plant. I inspected the flower which looks like it has two stamen with something resembling pollen on the tips of it.
