I have a lot of different plant types on my property. Half of it is wooded with a crick running through it. Here are 3 different plants. One low spreading plant.http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=91011&stc=1&d=1304792825 A vine that covers everything! http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=91012&stc=1&d=1304792825 A weird tree that never seems to die.http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=91013&stc=1&d=1304792825 Can anyone identify these? Thank you, Jeremy
I'd bet that the first plant in your photos, which is Poison Ivy (Toxicodendron spp), is what's giving you the rash. The second vine will be easier to ID once it has leaves, and the third plant is the dreaded Manitoba Maple, Acer negundo. I have yet to figure out how to kill one permanently.
Does not look like Poison Ivy. The latter has triple leaves, not double-triple, and the leaf edge is not dented so regularly. Those in the picture more like some Apiaceae. There might be plenty of stuff growing around the creek, even poison ivy. And some apiaceae may give rashes, too. My advise - just to look what will eventually grow from all this stuff and then decide what to do with it. In the fall or the next year spring.
