The only thing I like about winter, a beautiful fresh snow. 'Seiryu' 'Garnet' and an overall look of the yard all snow dusted!
Your pictures are awesome! I never have good results taking snow pictures. I tried to take a few yesterday from inside of a fresh overnight snow fall. This time of year we get either a light coating like what's in the pictures or we get hit with abundant heavy snow like what Emery posted last week. I also posted a few night pictures from Dec too.
Thanks! Yours look really good too. I really love how the Sango Kaku looks with the snow. I have a few of them but none of mine are big enough to appreciate like yours. To get the best snow pics, you just need to get the right snow. Those couple I posted above were the morning after a wet sticky snow so it clung to every little twig. When you have a lot of large trees covered like that it makes for quite a site. It starts getting scary when we get too much of that type of snow though because it's the same type what will get heavy fast and start breaking branches. We had a couple storms like that where I had to go out and shake all the branches halfway through the storm or limbs would of broke for sure. So far it doesn't look like I got much winter damage though so it was worth doing. I hope we don't get any more snow, I'm so ready for spring!
Please check your local lost and found. Here in the Midwest, we are looking for Spring. It was supposed to show up last Wednesday, but never did!!!
Hmmm, I'm thinking more of a 'Wanted' poster... Had a beautiful teaser of a sunny day hitting 80 a week prior, and since then we've been in the crapper again. :( How much did you end up getting? I think we had about 4" or so, based on what was sitting on the deck yesterday morning, all overnight too. I think the only one thrilled about the late snow was Loken, our sibe, I could hardly get him inside yesterday.
Yeah, this spring is killing me. We didn't get as much snow as you guys, less than an inch but our temps are cold! We can't seem to get above freezing! I've been waiting for the ground to thaw for weeks so I can start planting and transplanting before bud break but so far no luck. We are going to have no spring, just winter and then it's going to jump right into summer.
Spring hasn't sprung here either. We had 17-20cm (7-8 inches) of snow over the weekend, and it is going to stay around freezing all week with Baltic winds causing severe windchill. I was a few miles from the North Sea today, and I can tell you that the wind was freezing cold!
