I forgot the name of this plant/flower

    Can someone please identify the plant where this flower is.
    The plant looks very much like a green bamboo, the flowers bloom at the end.
    It is the deepest purple colour I have sen on a flower.
    I wanted to post it as a picture of the day but I don't remember its name

    Have you got a photo of the foliage?? Maybe Blue Ginger native to Australia?? Not sure of botanical name

    I did a google image search with "Blue Ginger" and immediately the flower shows. Dichorisandra thyrsiflora
    Here in Cuernavaca (Mexico) where I live it is a common plant, I wonder how could also be in Australia.
    So my question was fully answer
