    Looks different to me. Maybe the one asked about is a species of Stachys.

    Thank you for your information, and the link to the excellent site Dave's Garden. Now I know it may be a quite rare Salvia I shall make sure I look after it. I nipped out the growing tip to strengthen it up while the roots develop, but once it has flowers I shall be able to confirm your identification. Thanks again.

    Hi Ron B
    You may be right about this one. The leaves - which are square and spadelike near the stem - aren't very aromatic and I think the leaves are rather sparse up the stem - which is quite pink - to be a sage - but I'll keep detecting, and see what happens as it matures. Wish I could remember who I got it from.
