I can't get a photo..please help me anyway! :) I bought a plant at a supermarket tonight, so it's got to be pretty common, but I can't figure it out, and it seems unusual to me. It's in bad shape so I want to try to help it asap. :) It has very long (6-9 inch) thin leaves, not very waxy, but stiff - they feel like an Agloanema but thinner, kind of like a Calathea I had (and killed :() recently. They are oval and come to a point. They are smooth, not veiny. (It's not a Pseuderanthemum.) The undersides of the leaves are fuschia, and a little streaky. They are variegated, dark green and cream, though the cream is tinged with pink from the underside. The variegation is irregular; some leaves are half green and half white, divided along the center, and others have dark green, lighter green and cream patterns, variegated a little like "Vs" or chevrons, but not as regular or as splotchy as an Aggie, and not as sharp or as regular as a Calathea or Marantha. All the leaves have cream around the edges, though some have a lot and some have just a tiny bit. (The coloring looks much like a variegated Pisonia.) The pot is marked "Sunshine Foliage World" (I can't get on the website) and the plant is in pretty bad shape - a lot of split leaves and dry tips and edges. Any ideas would be much appreciated; then I can go hunt down photos! Thanks, Jude Several stalks come up, around the perimeter of the pot, and each stalk consists of 4-5 stems - which are also fuschia. The
I found it. D@mn...it's a Stromanthe - triostar. I'm never going to be able to keep it alive. I ran the humidifer with my Calathea and kept her on a pebble tray and still lost her. :( Thanks anyway.
