Is there any truth to a rumour that dilute hydrogen peroxide is a plant stimulant? My neighbour appears to have obtained spectacular results using dilute H2O2 on a planter box of geraniums and lobelia, while his second control box was untreated. The plants in the treated box were soon twice as large as those in the untreated box. The test may not be entirely valid, as the untreated box is cedar, while the other is old concrete.

I've used it before as a growth stimulant and always been happy with the results, however now that I'm down here with no winters, I find that the H2O2 boost seems to burn the plants out after a while. Try it for yourself using Geraniums - this way if it works, great, and if it doesn't then you're not out more than a couple of bucks.
