Any thoughts on this plant? This one is in Victoria. It has dark reddish/purple foliage in the spring that slowly changes to dark green in the late summer/fall. The blooms are just starting now (October), and are very fragrant, almost tropical. The scent reminds me of a Daphne, but the stalks and leaves look like a Hydrangea. To propagate, would a heel cutting work? Thanks for you help. -Kay
Looks like the same plant ID'd by saltcedar yesterday, Clerodendrum bungei. http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=70996 Sounds nice. I will have to look for one of those.
