I have always loved hydrangeas so last Spring I bought a fully bloomed hydrangea plant from a garden center. I planted it in my front yard and it did ok. Before winter arrived, I pruned it down and all that was left were 2 bare branches. When Spring arrived, I thought it was dead because I didn't see any new growth on the branches. For the past few weeks I've been seeing small green leaves sprouting from the base of the branches where the soil meets. Is this a good indication that my hydrangea will blossom and flower again? I would like to add annabelle hydrangeas to my garden. Is this an easier plant to grow?
