I am new to rose gardening and reading all I can to make my Hybrid Tea Rose bushes a success. I planted two rose bushes Peace and Gypsy. Gypsy is fine. Peace has caught the black spot. It is everywhere! I am trying to go the natural route. I have been spraying a garlic/vegetable oil/ natural soap based fungicidal.

Is my rose bush doomed!? Black spot runs wild in VA, but before going to heavy duty insecticides what can be done? I am also trying the baking soda spray every AM.

    Much thanks in advance,

    Heather

Soak some bare copper wire in a jug of vinegar for a few weeks until the solution is a dilute turquoise. Dilute this with water and a drop of dish detergent into a spray bottle, and spray thoroughly. For added punch, spray the following week with a solution of sulphur and dish detergent. Add rubbing alcohol to kill aphids.

The copper solution is also good for invasive mushrooms and any type of fungal infection.

Or you could buy some fixed copper or Bordeaux mix fungicide and apply according to label directions.

Thank you so much for all that replied. That is some great advice. I am going to try the copper wiring solution!
