i am interested in knowing what the "humus cycle" is in the public parks in canada: - do municipalities buy compost - do they make their own compost and if so at what technical cost (griding? turning?...) this matter is of interest to me as i am in charge of the parks of a city of 40 000 in france and we are not very good at recycling our green wastes. thank you
Here are a few links for you to check out: Composting at Vancouver Landfill UBC Composting With a city the size of 40 000, you might like to contact the folks at UBC Composting, as they deal with a similarly-sized community for more information.
thank you for this info. i was not aware of that program. i have already found a really interesting repourt about their activities. i will contact them. pierre
Greetings Pierre, I live in Edmonton, Alberta, and we have a wonderful recycling and composting program here. Here is a link: http://www.edmonton.ca/portal/serve...eb/environment+waste+and+recycling/recycling/ It is a very good program. Peace...
Compost and Topsoil will no longer be available at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre after October 9, 2006. You have to buy it from a commercial site. Durgan.
