I bought this hoya near the end of this fall. When it gets a little bigger, it'll probably go onto a hanging basket so it has more room to grow. Hopefully in the spring, it will have lots of blooms!
Wow - I love the marbling effect on the leaves, it's pretty even without flowers! Are they hard to look after? Good luck with it:)
The leaves kind of remind me of crocodile skin:) Well, it looked like it might be a little fussy, so I was a little hesitant of getting it at first, but I couldn't resist, and so far, it seems pretty happy without any special care...
Thats good:) I only asked because I'm new to the world of gardening and want to learn as much as possible about all the indoor plants out there...
Yeah...I got an A-Z of house plants book today (on sale for just a £1:D), not a good idea - now I have at least half a dozen plants on my 'want list' my parents are gonna get sick of me asking them to take me to Garden centres all the time when I get home!
*drools* i'm jealous!! i've been wanting that one and just can't find it anywhere!! definitely post pics when it blooms!!
joclyn, I bought it off ebay. They come up for bids now and then, especially in the spring and summer months. Here's another hoya I think you'll probably like:) Again, an ebay find. It's a Variegated H. macrophylla. This photo was taken around the springtime. The leaves look waffle like. The flowers are white with lilac/light purple tips....
oh!!! that's a PRETTY one - both the leaves and the flowers!! i didn't know that one bloomed with colored tips on the petals - i thought it was just an all white flower. VERY nice!!
Actually, before H. macrophylla ever flowered, I was asking people who owned lots of hoyas what the flower color would be. A couple of them said the flowers would be a dusty pink, ok, so I assumed this hoya flowered for them. Imagine my surprise when the flowers opened and they were two toned, white and lilac! No pink!
