Hi there- for the first time we have figs on our fig tree! How do I know when to pick them? Do they just fall off when they're ripe?
    Thanks! Erica

The hole opens up and oozes. They also become a little droopy.

Hi Erica, Here are some pics of a ripening fig (Peter's Honey), while it doesn't ooze so much say like a Desert King fig, most all figs will hang down and droop to lean on the stem when ripe. With Peter's Honey Fig, the skin goes from being green opaque to a yellowy green thats shiny or translucent.
