    Hi,
    Good afternoon every one
I am new here. just register an hour ago. few question for baby japanese maple, not sure what I should do.
I am livining in City of Guelph 100 Km west of Toronto.
I have a more then 15 year old maple in the front lawn, it meassures 10ft tall 10ft wide. during graden clean up, found more then 50 seeds has sprout and some has grown 2-3 inches tall, 4 leavse on it, just wondering what is the best way to keep it growing.

    My question is

1:Should it be kept in ground where they started? (it all in the front lawn, I am afraid it will get killed when I cutting grass)
2:What need to be done in the winter if leave in ground when it still yound?
3:should it be Transplanted into a pot?
4:Where to keep it if tranplant into a pot?
5:What kind of soil is best if moved into pot?

    Thank you in advance

    regards

I think I would make a cage of some kind around them (so they don't accidentally get damaged) and leave them there for a couple years. I had the same thing happen with my A. palm. 'Beni Otake' but I had a lot of them. I planted some in containers and left about 4 behind in the ground. They aren't in a mowing area, though. I will say the ones in pots are growing much faster, though. Hope this helps.

    Kay.
    Thank you for your reply.
after reading ur suggestion, I will make it 3 different way to preserver them, pot some, relocate some to a not mowing area, some leave it there, where they started
    Thanks again..
