Hello @Daniel Mosquin - VCBC @wcutler planning ahead to view cherry blossoms in a few weeks and other peaceful aspects of Nitobe - I have read website about hours and location (I know the Translink 68 campus bus goes past Nitobe - main stop near the old gymnasium bus loop ) i don’t understand where to buy admission ticket and what is price? Do we buy at the main botanical garden and go back over to Nitobe? I have family member with faculty card so I think they are complimentary no fee to various UBC venues incl gardens and museum (the one on Main Mall near engineering) - ? i have reviewed this website (below) and can’t find exact info as I ask above I trust the hours shown are accurate thank you ! https://botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/visit/nitobe-memorial-garden/
The March hours are Tuesday-Sunday: 10:00am-2:00pm. The entrance wicket is right at the garden, which is just past the Fraser Parkade. That is where your family member would show the faculty card for admission. You can purchase an admission for any date at UBC Botanical Garden Admission 2024 (Pre-season January 9 - March 31).
Thank you Wendy - I am thinking of weekday in April I look fwd to it I enjoy thé website with history of Mr Nitobe and significance of lanterns in the garden transit # 68 it is (Old arboretum remains are close too)
Thanks, Wendy. I was away when this was asked. I've asked other staff for an update on how the cherries are developing there.
PS - I posted a photo of a pink blossom located on Agronomy Rd nr Main Mall under the UBC vcbf thread
