    Hi -

I bought and replanted a ponytail palm that seems to be thriving but not sure what to do now. It started growing a new stem from the center/top and I'm not sure I can cut this off and if I do, whether: 1) it can be replanted, and 2) if it will hurt the plant. Can anyone give me some advice?

Thank you! Do you know if the flower stem can be removed before it dries up and if it can be replanted? And where do I cut it off?

I've not done it before but I don't see how it would be harmful to remove the flower stem. Past postings suggest it would be difficult to root a leaf stem cutting; it is unlikely there'll be success with a flower stem. I remember reading in past postings that branching occurs after flowering so I would allow the plant to flower and see what happens.
