I just got this stem yesterday, I took transplanted it today but I noticed that the root ball was pretty big and filled up the whole pot. ( not root bound ) How old do you think this branch is and when do you think it will start producing flowers? Thank you
Re: How old do you think this Plumeria is and when do you think it will start floweri This appears to be very young but the question is how old is the parent?. I used to cut these off one of my trees in Florida and they would always take until they are at least five feet tall to bloom. Plumeria will not bloom without near direct sunlight year round and regular fertilizer. I brought a very nice four foot specimen with us when we moved to NW Arkansas in 2001 and it is now 8 feet tall but has never produced a single bloom because it is in my tropical atrium with only partial sun. Orchids and other tropical specimens around it produce blooms all the time but my tree does not receive enough sun yet. I am hoping by the time it makes 12 feet it may find enough light in the upper atrium to finally produce the multi-colored blooms. Give it at least a five gallon pot with sandy soil and lots of sun. It is important the plant develop a very good root system. Steve
Re: How old do you think this Plumeria is and when do you think it will start floweri I've known people to have good luck with plumeria cuttings blooming the first year. That does not mean it's the usual case.
Re: How old do you think this Plumeria is and when do you think it will start floweri So basically 'wait and see'?
