Hello. This is my 1st veggie patch in Burnaby. I have about 60 lettuce and 60 Spinach. I do NOT have a irrigation system. I use a plastic water can of 5 liters. How many times per day and how much water? my soil is a mix of top soil and mushroom manure and local earth with a little bone meal.
The Patch is placed between 2 houses no other place possible.
It gets full south sun from 10-11am to 2-3pm now I guess a bit more in full summer. normal day light for the rest of the day.
    I hope this is enough.
I put 2 small clear plastic green houses over it.
Must they be closed at all times to produce heat or is it better to leave it open in the day time ?
Thank you for any help and info

to the best of my knowledge, spinach and lettuce dont mind being cool. The heat brings them to bolt where they go to flower and seed....
