I found today one of the tops of my tree peony snapped off and hanging there. Now, I believe this piece broke yesterday, it is about 14" long. The bottom 4"-6" is old hard wood and top has 5 big leaves and one bud. My question is: what would I do to have the best chance at rooting this piece if possible?
    Thanks

Usually propagated by grafting or by division of established plants. Shoot cuttings are reported to be very difficult, and if done, best done in summer after flowering. So I suspect there's little point in trying to use your broken shoot.
