I was given these plants(in one basket) to baby sit for my neighbor...i believe they are low light houseplants...but i don't want to kill them Please advise me how to care for them...and what are their names please? Thanks! jay
Looks like variegated Hosta, Maranta or Ctenanthe, and Spathiphyllum. They are all shade-lovers. Water when the soil is dry to the depth of your first knuckle.
Spathiphyllum (Peace Lilies) also grow very well in bright light and in water. In South America they are often found growing on the edge of a stream and well out into the water, often in near direct sunlight. We grow six in a four foot long aquarium with 330 watts of plant light light hung directly over the plants and they produce so many new leaves and inflorescences on a very regular basis. http://www.exoticrainforest.com/Spathiphyllum Clevelandii pc.htm
