hi, i hope everyone is doing well.

i am starting some coneflower plants, and i need to bring them inside. i have to go on a vacation in about 5 hours and i cant use fresh soil. i filled some pots with dirt, i put in some of my seeds, and then here comes the problem; i want to bring the pot inside, but im afraid that there are bugs that might infest my house. so what can i do about that? i have no insecticidal soap and i cant use any fresh dirt, because i cant really get any at this moment.

Little late now I suppose, seeing as you're now apparently on vacation. Sorry to appear to be harsh, but your first mistake is indoor use of 'dirt' which I presume is garden soil.
If you want to seed out anything for sprouting indoors to get a head start on the season use a soilless seed-starter mix and if you have no immediate access to it hold off until you do. I know when we're seeing spring flowering bulbs starting to pop-up we're itching to get seeds started but hold off until you can do it properly and look after them... Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

thank you for your advice! you are very right, and my urges got a hold of me. and you do not appear harsh at all! only very helpful. it did not sprout anyways, and got absolutely carpeted in mold. i had to throw it away when i got back. my next paycheck is maybe next week, so i'll buy some seed starter mix then. i hope you have a great day!
