How Deep Does My Carrot Bed Have To Be ?

    When i got my carrots seeds i looked at the back and it said that i had to space them apart 2cm and the rows have to be 25cm apart but what it didnt say was HOW DEAP DOES THE BED HAVE TO BE ???????

    Try this thread on this site for some fine information. Carrot soil depth about 12 inches or 30 cm.

    OMG reLi som1 told me ir had to be at leasts 18 inc of carrots and beets??

    Yes, you could do it in 12", but 18" is better. The more depth you have for root growth, the better.

    If you don't care if your carrots are straight or not. Or plant some of the new round carrots that are much shorter. The problem with carrots is that if you do not give them sufficient root room of nice loose soil they will fork. It won't change the flavour, but it sure makes them difficult to scrape if you wish to do that.
