I remember giving a house plant party in the 1970s - kinda like a Tupperware party. A small local house plant business brought several dozen beautiful plants and gave a presentation about growing them. I provided lots of nibblies. Everyone felt so good about it all but very few sales were had. I did buy a few myself. The Boston Fern languished because of dry air and lack of light. The Ficus benjamina lost leaves faster than it grew new ones. The Schefflera contracted spider mites. So, to the optimistic new generation of house plant afficionados, I say, "Good luck!"
