I need to identify this plant
my BF had one a few years ago
all of the leaves rusted and died, and this one seems to be on the same path
i removed it from the soil and put it into a jar of water with some Miracle Grow

    Hello RedFeather,

This is an Alocasia, possibly A. amazonica. It is a type of the taro plant, the plants that tapioca is made from. Give it well drained soil but keep moist in summer. Give mild fertilizer every two weeks in summer, rest in winter. Do not put it in strong sunlight.

While searching for info about this plant I found this relative of your plant. Wouldn't you like to grow one that big?!!!

I think it has a bulb. Your plant is just young and the bulb is small. Technically I think they are rhizomes not bulbs.
