Hi. I don't have a picture but I would like to describe this plant in the hope that someone knows what it might be. Smuggled into a suitcase 40 years ago from England, and while the original is gone it has reproduced countless times which is done by growing a side spindle, which is then cut off. Four to six inch medium green leaves which grow outward from a central point, no stem. Generally six to eight leaves in a mature plant. Takes many months but eventually flowers into a six to eight inch single white flower which ressembles a bottlebrush, quite fragrant. Prefers somewhat dry soil and medium light, medium humidity. Looks a bit like a calanthe or dendrobium which are both orchids. Humidity too low for an orchid, flower too small for a calanthe and not yellow like dendrobium. Many of our friends have started these plants from the side spindle and not one of us knows what it is!!
Possibly brought into England many years ago from South Africa.
Any ideas, please submit. Many thanks.
