Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions how to prevent?
I've never had a problem like this before! I know they like eating alyssum seeds but never destroyed the whole plant. I've seen them devouring all parts of the plant, which has found its way under other plants otherwise it'd be gone entirely by now. I rather like finches and welcome all birds, save starlings, into my balcony jungle. How do I resolve this (without scrapping the plant)? Thanks!

I've had house finches eating sweet cherry blossoms in the past, but this has not been a problem in recent years. Problems with birds are usually solved by applying netting, available at places like Home Depot.
