Hot green pepper

    Not a plant, just the fruit, but I was hoping someone can tell me what kind of peppers these might be. I bought the hot peppers at the farmer's market, but they didn't know the name of them. The first pepper is about 5 inches long

    There are many named chili peppers ...they even have a scale so you will know how hot each named variety is...called Scoville heat units.

    See link below to see just how many named chili appear in the alphabetical list.

    Your one might be really mild and therefore might be X...or it could be really hot which might make it Y.

    Thank you. I'm aware of the Scoville scale. Even a known variety of pepper can have different heat levels depending on growing factors. I know that there are many varieties, but they don't all look like these. I thought some of the pepper lovers might have some suggestions as to which it might be.
