I can't figure out why my honeysuckle vine keeps on getting dried up looking leaves/some discolored yellow leaves???

This happened last summer and this spring so far.

Is the soil too wet? I read the suggestion about keeping the roots shaded with mulch. I'm wondering if there is some type of bug invaded it already so early in the Spring?

Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

    Thanks!!

Your description makes me wonder about some type of pest as well. You may want to take a branch to a local university extension office or a good nursery if you can. If you can post an image here, that may help.

Some kinds are quite apt to mildew.

My honeysuckle also looked as though it was dying from the ground up this spring ,we sprayed it with sulpher and it has rebounded well . Still a bit stragley but new growth and blossoms. This also happened to my Clematis Montana and it's till looking shabby .Too wet and cold this past winter perhaps?
