honeysuckle /clematis

    I have a mix of clemtis and honeysuckle very attractive but in the spring there is a lot of dead growth it has been in 4 years how do i trim it or do i trim it what if it was cut down to about 6 inches would i damaged it or would i get all new growth from it any thoughts or should i put it out of my mind

    i'm not aware of any restrictions for the honeysuckle, so that one you should have no problem if you take it back to a couple feet in length.

    the clematis is a different story. different varieties should be pruned at different times and not always every year and there are restrictions for some as to how far back to trim them. which one do you have???
