Wildflowers: High altitude Ranunculaceae ID Montana

    I know that this is likely some sort of buttercup/Ranunculaceae.

    What I don't know is what type.

    These were photographed in July near Rock Creek Vista (9190 feet) in Custer National Forest, Montana.

    Can you help me identify which type of Ranunculaceae these are?

    Look through your field guides at Potentilla (Rosaceae).

    I just did... I think it might be Rocky Mountain Cinquefoil (Potentilla rubricaulis).

    What do you think?
