I planted a hibiscus tree (two trees entertwined) in early June and it was lovely until now. Now it has alot of yellow leaves and flowers start to bloom and then shrivel. I am in Florida, does it have anything to do with the time of year?

Maybe. Tropical hibiscus needs it warm. Are you in south Florida?

No, I am in Central Florida near Tampa.

We are still in the mid 80's.

It's still pretty hot and dry here across the state. I'd think it was drought related if a neighbor chatted me up about it. Are you sure it is getting enough water, and that the pot is not getting overly hot? For instance a black planter's pot from the nursery may overheat the roots on the side the sun hits, which would stress the plant.

My inground hibiscus are doing better with the marginally cooler days. No more blossom drop.

This is a natural occurrence for newly planted trees and shrubs.......especially ones that bloom late in the season, like hydrangeas, rose of sharon etc.. The newly planted plant will drop some of its leaves in lieu of the flowers (it can't do both because it doesn't have the established root system). Give it adequate water through this season and all of next season and you will find that it will not drop its leaves next year.

Plant is a bit touchy about environmental conditions, try Googling hibiscus care or similar for hints. Maybe Florida Cooperative Extension has information also.
