Hibiscus

    Here's one I grew from a cutting 15 years ago. It's still growing strong except for an occasional blister mite attack which I treat by defoliateing the shrub and cutting it down in size to about 4 feet. I never did find out it's name.

    Wow!! You grew this from a cutting? Its wonderful! Did it take long for the first flower?

    bereal: Your H. rosa-sinensis looks quite like a hybrid named "Norma".

    hi chuck..its me again..my plant has been growing rapidly thanks to u..the leaves are healthy :) but need ur help again..last week to my delight saw a bud.. cant tell u how happy i was..anyways the flower never bloomed and today while watering the plant it fell off..not sure why??am i doing anything wrong??

    bhavnag; Fifth try. The most common cause of bud drop is not enough Calcium. The use of a balanced PALM fertilizer should take care of this. Spray the buds with an insectidal soap every few days to eliminate thrips, scale, and aphids, and the buds should stick. Chuck
