Hi. I have an Hibiscus tree in a container on my deck that receives full afternoon sun. I have enjoyed the beautiful deep pink blooms all summer. The leaves are now starting to yellow and even turn a little brown, even while the beautiful blooms continue. Is this a watering problem or pests? I've looked and not seen anything unusual on the leaves. Thanks. Peggy in Kentucky
Hard to say if it's a watering problem without knowing how often or much you water. Try getting it into light shade now though and make sure it is well watered, but you could have spider mites from dryness, which means you have to spray hard with water, mix 1-2 drops of dish detergent into a quart of water and spray that all over the foliage (after the initial water spray's dried), then do it again in 5-6 days and again a week later.
Thanks for the reply. I water it nearly every morning - only missed a couple of times. Not a lot of water but maybe a quart or two. I will try the soap spray. I'm just amazed at just how many flowers it grows. They are wonderful and attract humming birds! Thanks again. Peggy
