Hibiscus Propagation

    OK I bought this hibiscus several years ago. I have re potted it twice. I live near Boston so bring it inside during winter. Unfortunately I have terminal cancer and a short time to live. I plan to cut this plant back and would love to have help in how to propagate the cuttings. I have two experimental cutting I put in water but that looks like it is failing.

    I would guess you have a tropical hibiscus, probably Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.

    You will need to propagate by cuttings or graft to get the same plant. I have never taken cuttings of hibiscus. I would think putting your cuttings in a moist sterile medium and sealing them in plastic bags or keeping them in some humid environment for the propagation will be necessary.
