found this plant growing beside tomatoes. leaves smelt like mint when it was smaller, but now it's beginning to look like hibiscus to me. am i right or is it just another weed?
It's not like any hibiscus I know. General shape of the leaf, but that's all. Are the stems square? It does look mint family, and if so would have square stems. The flower bud looks nothing like a typical mint family flower though.
I entered opposite, scalloped, and ovate into a database of cultivated plants. Lantana and Salvia dominated the results. Hibiscus has a spiral leaf arrangement. Agree it is likely Galinsoga.
