I have a variety of hibiscus plants which flower great when I first buy them but after a month or two the new buds drop off at an alarming rate, I live in Spain and we have temperatures in the high 30c and occasionally low 40c, can someone suggest a cure for this problem please. (the bud drop not the temp) (:-)

    Unsuitable moisture or temperature conditions.

    Hi ron B,
Thanks for your quick response, I hear what your saying but I am surrounded by wild hibiscus that get little or no moisture and not one bud drop, so when I try to replicate the same conditions.........the plant almost dies, here the spanish just shrug their shoulders and smile...........what the hell.

Certain varieties of hibiscus can be prone to bud drop for whatever reason, could also be a pest problem.

No, I dont have a pest or parasite problem,I water regularly(timed irrigation system) and they are in sun/partial shade, I've tried full sun, shade, but the buds form by the dozen and just at the point of opening...........they drop.
