Identification: Hi! Anyone have a clue to what this is?

I was recently given this plant by my boss. She picked it up at a prison which was closing its greenhouse. She had three of these at different stages and I know from the others that the off shoots (shown in 2nd pic) grow babies with roots, like a spider plant. It has about 7 of these arm (off shoot) type things. If this post doesn't work my apologies.

 

I think it is an orchid. Wait to see if it flowers in Spring. My friend gave me one that looks just like that and it flowered into a beautiful orchid last Spring.

 

I agree- we also have an orchid that closely resembles this.
