All my heuchera (mostly Marmalade and Peach Flambé) are getting crispy, with dark purple spots on the leaves. Thinking they were once again under attack from the strawberry root weevil, I dug them up, thinking that emergency soaking, de-bugging, fertilizing and division was called for.

Wow. Do heucheras usually have such poor and shallow root systems? They are virtually all woody stem and a few unimpressive and shallow roots.

No sign of grubs, so did they munch and go, or am I facing some other difficulty?

Opinions appreciated, along with tips for PNW heuchera care.

    Regards,
    Janet
