I'm stumped on this one. This is an unknown wildflower from interior BC. The sender is someone who submits his abstract photographs to BPotD. Mystery Flower Here is a bit more to describe it:
Possibly a female of a dioecious plant, where the long thin appendages are styles. This picture is an example not an id. The teeth on the petals point to Caryophyllaceae, perhaps? Not vary awake I am, as the stamens are clearly shown in the picture, so clearly not dioecious. But perhap the long thin appendages are styles. So 5 styles?, 5 stamens, teeth on the petals, to recap. Ron B. Were you thinking on something of the order of Swamp Saxifrage or Saxifraga itegrifolia? Does that mean what I thought were teeth on the petals are actually filaments? Harry
It finally dawned on me that what though were teeth was the flowerstalk, and that the fruit was to the left. How about Tiarella? Harry
