Silver Surfer is correct. And the plant can become quite large - a local nursery has it twining around 6-8 inch square timbers. The mature lower branches reach 5 inches across and appear to crush the wood as they twine up and hug it tightly. The fruit hangs down from the hefty trellis installed between the posts.

Very definitely the nursery has both male and female plants -patrons can pick the fruit during season.
