Hello new to this site, I received this cactus as a gift a few days ago and I don't know anything about it, can I put it outside on my porch or leave inside? How often should I water it? Whats the name of it? Thanx

Your cactus is a Mammillaria elongata 'cristata'

Put it in a sunny spot. I would probably leave it indoors, but you could put it on the porch for summer to decorate. You have to be careful about overwatering, so a small potted cactus like that should be protected from a lot of rain. Water when the soil is dry an inch or so deep. That will be impossible to check, because there is really no place to get you finger into the soil. Best to water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom (do not leave plant in tray of water) and then leave the plant to dry, usually water around once per week in summer and once every 3-4 weeks in winter, but it depends a lot on the type of soil, size of the pot and temperature, so I hate to give that type of general timing.
