    Good day all,
My friend bought a house last fall and his is now moving again. He knows nothing about flowers and he is digging everything up to replace it with grass! He told me I can take whatever I want because it's all going in a land fill. Here's my dilemma, I'm moving as well in 2 weeks and I would like to bring as many as I can with me.

How can I keep these flowers temporally for about 2 weeks without having to plant them? They are just starting to come out of the ground.

I have pulled them out of the ground and keeped as much soil as I could. Now what?

For dormant mail order tree seedlings some combination of moisture retaining root gel, plastic bags, damp newspaper, pots, or tubes (somewhat like water bottles with the lids cut off) do ok.

Small non-dormant annuals have never done as well for me mail order. I suspect they dry out quicker. Any chance of putting them in cheap plastic pots? Try to get a couple pots from a walmart or some garden center which may be tossing them.

Got it, thanks. BTW, the plants are coming with me in my jeep. I found 2 large plastic tubs with rope handles for cheap. They just fit in both. Once I get to NB I will plant them in a temp location until I'm ready to build my flower beds.
