I've had this plant for over ten years, and I've really been neglecting it. I want to replant and help it out, but I don't know anything about it or how to care for it.

If anyone knows what kind of plant this is could you please help me out.

    Thanks

Dracaena reflexa. Repot into unglazed clay or plastic with good drainage holes, new soil - something free-draining with no added fertilizers (ie don't use MiracleGro soil, look for something with a good peat or coir content) then make sure it's in good light. Looks like it could use a touch more water, too.

Looks to be a Dracaena marginata.

They do well in good bright indirect light, a little bit of sun, or dapple sun is ok. Water well, then it let the soil pretty much dry between waterings. They don't like wet feet, or to be dry for more then a couple days or so.

I found this plant needs to be turned a lot as it tends to always bend, or lean at the top.

Thanks for the help. My plant can't even hold itself up right now. I forgot about it for a long time.

I've definitely been watering it wrong though, so thanks for clearing that up for me.

I could be wrong, but you should be able to cut the stalk, and reroot it. New growth should start sprouting at the old wound.
