    actually Im not sure at all wether its a tree or shrub. I came across this species when I was in the mediterrenean region.

    Here's the last photo I have, with this planet a bit bigger and older.

    Kochia scoparia - seems like a good gues, any other ideas?

    thank you very very much, I believe that's it!

    most of the time Im quite good at IDing trees, but shrubs and flowers are my weak side.

    that gets me to another question: any ideas about this plant? thanks in advance;)

    That one looks like
    Eryngium giganteum 'Silver Ghost'

    certainly looks like one, except Eryngium giganteum has a larger 'head' (dont know the right word for it, english is not my native language)

    could it be Eryngium amethystinum?
