When possible, for accuracy in identification, it's helpful to have a closer photos of fruit, leaf, flower, and/or bark.
The trunk on the second tree looks like a Platanus spp. There is also a sign below it that says Sycamore, so that could have influenced / validated my guess. And I'd guess the first photo is an Oak (Quercus), but it also has a sign that says Oak below it. Honestly though, those were my guesses before I saw the signs.
lol thanks. i too was somewhat influenced by the signs when i first tried identifying the trees. they aren't actually signs for the trees, but rather signs for the different picnic sites at the rec area.
From what I can see in the photos I do think its possible that the picnic areas, respectively, were named after these large trees. Again, it's hard to tell from afar. But the first tree looks like it could possibly be an oak in bloom. And the second one has bark reminiscent of a Sycamore, possibly just leafing out for spring (?)
