Bellow are the photographs of the bark of 2 trees that I'm trying to identify.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you got photos showing the foliage? That would help a lot.

the one on the left, I have six or seven of the pigme palms in my yard and when the foliage falls off of the trunk it ends up looking like the picture on the left.
even the picture on the right you could see some serration on the stems of the foliage, looking like my palms when I cut them off.
if it is not a pigme palm it is some kind of palm.

Where were the photographs taken? Are these wild plants or cultivated?

I believe they are cultivated. They were taken in Toronto's Allen Gardens Conservatory.

Perhaps Pandanus or Vasconcella for #1?

Well I doubt they are trees. They certainly look to be palms. Check the bookstore and library at the Toronto Botanical Gardens for references.
